Jason and Deirdre
Location: Deception Pass
I’ve been so fortunate when it comes to traveling and photographing couples. Last year I started incorporating travel into my business and have been blown away by the sweet couples I have met along the way. It’s really meaningful to meet people from so many different places and hear about their experiences. I posted some travel dates last year and this these two reached out to me about getting together at Deception Pass for a wedding anniversary session while I was traveling. My trip overlapped with time they were spending in Washington as well, so it honestly couldn’t have worked out any better.
I met Jason and Deirdre in at Deception Pass a few hours before sunset. We checked out a few trails but made our way down to the water at a spot with a really stunning view of the Deception Pass Bridge. One of my favorite parts of a shoot is actually the beginning! I love hearing more about the couples I work with and feel like it helps shake any nerves of being in front of the camera. It was so fun to hear about their time in Washington and their experience being a husband and wife wedding photographer team! There’s something really sweet about sharing your career with your spouse and being able to pursue your passion for photography together.
One thing I love about these two is how naturally fun and playful they are with each other. We had the beach to ourselves, aside from a few fisherman, so it was fun to wander around for a bit and take in all the gorgeous scenery. I love the combination of rocky & sandy beaches, rock formations and fallen trees. We did more than our fair share of exploring and it was so beautiful.
