Yela and Zane
Location: Second Beach
I love everything about Washington beaches. The light, the driftwood, the tones, everything. A few weeks ago I wrote about the weekend I spent on Lake Crescent for a workshop I attended last August. We woke up early for hikes, spent the afternoons learning from each other, the evenings shooting, and the nights hanging out by our campfire and the lake. You can read all about it in my previous blog post here. On the last night of the workshop we photographed an awesome couple, Yela and Zane, on Second Beach. The beach is located in La Push, a place I’ve photographed several times and fall a little more in love with each time.
I remember visiting La Push on one of my first trips to Washington to visit my family. We rented a cabin on the reservation and stayed on the beach. It’s such a beautiful place and it was fun to see this place again. I love being able to photograph in places that have been awe-inspiring to me since I was young.
I like to attend at least one workshop each year, because no matter how long someone has been photographing, there’s always more to learn, skills to improve, and new friendships to build. I’ll be attending another workshop in about a month that I’m excited about (more on that to come in the next few weeks). Not only is it incredibly humbling to learn from some of the best in the industry, but workshops always leave me feeling recharged and inspired. I have some really fun things planned for my trip to Washington next month that I’ll be sharing in some upcoming posts, but suffice it to say it’s going to be amazing and I can’t wait.
