I’ve been really looking forward to blogging this Leavenworth wedding styled shoot and I’m so excited it’s finally here! However, in light of my last blog post, I want to start off this post by saying thank you. So many people reached out to offer congratulations about the move. If you have no idea what announcement I’m referring to, you can read about it here. It was so fun to finally share the news with everyone! It’s a decision that we made after a ton of thought and Caleb and I couldn’t be more excited.
The sweet and short version of my last blog post is I’m moving to Seattle next year and I’m pretty dang excited about it. The truth is my heart is in Washington, and it has been for the last decade. There are a lot of things I’ve been soaking up about my life here in Pennsylvania (time with my family, mostly). There are also a lot of things I’ve been doing to prepare for moving not just myself, but my business, across the country.
One of those things is building relationships with other photographers and wedding creatives in Washington. If I’ve learned anything about being a wedding photographer in the last 6 years, it’s that relationships and building friendships are key. I’ve shared before that I like to go to one workshop per year, and building relationships is my main goal. I spent a few days in Leavenworth meeting some photographers and enjoying a few styled shoots put on by Benj at his workshop, Cascade. We worked with three incredible couples for the styled shoots. I’ll be sharing images from the other two couples’ shoots in upcoming blog posts. A special thank you to The Dress Theory for providing such gorgeous gowns for the shoot.
