Megan & Rick
A few months ago I wrote a blog post and I shared some of the highlights from my last road trip through Washington. I made a stop on the Olympic Peninsula in September to see my friend Megan and do a little adventuring. I had the best time with Megan, Rick and their two dogs (who definitely steal the show in these photos) and I’ve been dying to blog this wedding anniversary session since I photographed it!
It was my first time checking out this particular location in the Olympic National Park and it blew me away. From the top you can look in any given direction and have an unobstructed view of absolute gorgeousness. I couldn’t even decide where to start shooting because I was so eager to see and photograph every inch of this place. This was some of the dreamiest golden light I’ve ever seen and it was perfect for their wedding anniversary session. By the way, the last image of this blog post is a view of where the Strait of Juan de Fuca meets the Pacific Ocean and it is a sight to behold.
We photographed well past sunset, into dusk, and made our way back. We grabbed some dinner at a local place – which of course meant I had to try their tacos, they were delicious – before heading back home for the night. When I think about our upcoming move to Washington, I can’t help but think about the friends I’ve made in the last few years, and how grateful I am. Looking back I see so many ways I’ve been planting roots in Washington and didn’t even know it. Cheers to the fact that 2017 is the year I start calling this place home.
