Just Over A Year Ago
Last week marked the one year anniversary of my website launch. A year ago I was sleep deprived, working round the clock, and rocking the same top knot bun for the third day in a row. Dry shampoo anyone? It had been months of hard work but as always, crunch time calls for a little extra hustle. Call me overzealous but with my new website & blog I also wanted to launch five new blog posts for people to read as they got familiar with my new online home. A decision I made 48 hours prior to the launch. Yeah…but what can I say I was sleep deprived.
The launch went smoothly, I celebrated with Caleb over some tacos & then slept like a rock for 10 hours. It was an incredible experience and looking back I had no idea what adventures were ahead of me. All of those hours were spent laying the groundwork to share new work each week on my blog. And looking back at the last year, I’m really grateful for that. Before sitting down to write this post I scrolled back through the last 55 blog posts. And I’m bursting with gratitude over how wonderful and soul nourishing this past year has been.
Speaking of soul nourishing, two months after my site launched I was on a plane heading to Washington, where I had 5 shoots lined up and a workshop to wrap up my trip. By the time I pulled up to the Namu Lodge in Leavenworth I was more than ready for a little R&R with some fellow photographers and shooting for leisure. This is the last of our three styled shoots from Cascade last summer. And Benj just opened up new dates so I can’t think of a better reason to share these.
I’m an adventurous wedding photographer moving to the west coast after 3 months of living the nomadic life on the road. Before we cozy down in our new home in Washington State, Caleb and I will be traveling and photographing in North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, and Washington State.
